Das unvergessliche Musical jetzt als Trickfilm • An independent, unconventional female British schoolteacher...

A proud and powerful, but good-hearted king. . . A charming and endearing family of royal children. . .

When these unforgettable characters are brought together in the exotic splendor of mid-19th-century Imperial Siam, the result is a magical adventure - and so is the story of 'The King and I.'

The true story of Anna Leonowens' experiences as the teacher of the royal family became the novel called 'Anna and the King of Siam' by Margaret Landon. It served as the basis for the Broadway musical masterpiece called 'The King and I', winning 10 Tony Awards over time, and an acclaimed live-action feature film, winning five Academy Awards. The musical and the film are possibly best known for their celebrated songs by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, including 'I Whistle a Happy Tune,' 'Getting to Know You,' 'Shall We Dance?' and 'I Have Dreamed.' Now, decades after the first audiences applauded this story, Morgan Creek Productions and Warner Bros. are proud to present an animated feature film version of 'The King and I,' adapted from one of the most popular musicals in history.
